WIP: Glamour Top.

This is something that's been taking up a lot of my time -- not necessarily active crocheting time, but certainly thinking/processing/designing time -- since I got this yarn for Christmas. Once I figured out each step, it didn't take long to complete it, but it'll probably be another month before it's ready to wear in public.

First, a gratuitous shot of my boobs:

And now, front and back shots:

Obviously these lovely shots were taken by me as I wore the top, in the bathroom mirror, with my cell phone. We're nothing if not high quality here. :-D

Anyway, as you can see in the "front" shot, there are still a bunch of strings hanging out that I need to tuck in. I also desperately need to add straps to make sure it stays up, and also to cover up my bra straps. I'm not really a "strapless" kind of person. So the advantage of making my own clothes is that I can pick the bra first (for fit and comfort) and then build a top to hide it.

I'm also going to find a nice piece of remnant cloth, probably something copper and shiny, to line the whole thing. The Vanna's Glamour yarn is frakking awesome, but the glitter is provided by a metallic thread wrapped into the yarn... and that is gonna itch like an SOB. Plus my belly is, er... well, you see it up there. Six-pack abs, I have not. And while I'm fine with wearing a bikini to the beach, if I'm going somewhere nice that I'm going to wear a glittery top to, I probably shouldn't be showing off all that pudge.

Coming soon... the finished product, close-up shots of the stitches I used, and (if I can figure out how to write it down) the pattern.
